The Single European Sky ATM Research Joint Undertaking (SESAR JU) is a public-private partnership responsible for the coordination and concentration of all European Union (EU) research and development activities in Air Traffic Management. We have a framework contract with the SESAR JU and we basically make all their digital and innovative initiatives a reality, which we enjoy a lot since they always get super challenging!

The SESAR JU wished to conduct a number of activities in the area of digital communications, to promote their work in several strategic areas and introduce its new initiative the U-space. U-space is a set of new services relying on a high level of digitalisation and automation of functions and specific procedures designed to support safe, efficient and secure access to airspace for large numbers of drones.

To illustrate the U-space blueprint and explain how this future drone traffic management framework could operate in real life, we produced a 3D animated film with tailor-made sound design and original music. The film translated a highly technical and abstract concept into a clear visual narrative, showing how digitalised and automated services could support the safe, efficient and secure integration of large numbers of drones into European airspace.
