Lou, an 8-year-old girl, and Carl, her magical snail, set out to explore the big mysteries of the world around them: why is the sky blue? What are bones for? How do ants find their way home?
Every episode starts with Lou asking a question. An adult gives her a silly or random answer that doesn’t sit right with her. Lou exclaims, “Let’s go check that!” grabs her explorer’s bum bag, and off she goes with Carl. Together, they discover “how things really work.” The main story is told in 3D, but each episode also includes a short 2D DIY segment related to the topic — like building a birdhouse or creating a rainbow!
Carl’s shell can transform to match whatever they’re exploring — sometimes it bristles like a cat’s fur, splits into two wheels that zoom around, sprouts tiny wings for flying, or morphs in all sorts of playful ways. Whenever Lou touches Carl’s magic shell, she shrinks down so she can explore the world up close.
